...very good book by kenya hara! informative and enjoyable to read.....
it really elaborates on the importance of emptiness in both the visual and philosophical traditions of Japan, and its application to design.

<i>“Creativity is to discover a question that has never been asked. If one brings up an idiosyncratic question, the answer he gives will necessarily be unique as well.” – Kenya Hara, Designing Design.<i>

I love this quote. It truly expresses my thoughts on art and design. If you find yourself spending all of your time problem solving or designing to fit standards that already exist . . .you are missing out. True genius and creativity comes when we attempt to express something that has never been, or in the least ask a question as to why it hasn't been.
