Good advice about the redirect. Slipped my mind. Done. By the way, I'm enjoying your reviews. Keep it up.

Hi Erik - thanks for the heads up. That's a real shame and, I believe, very short-sighted of MIT Press. I would suggest you do a re-direct page from the now dead links to the post about there demand to take it down. Not only will it be amusing to send whoever sent you that e-mail to the page when they inevitably check up on you, but also inform the readers instead of going to a not-found page.

Thanks for a mention at the end of the post. Just a heads up for you. I had to pull my detailed reviews and commentary from my blog due to a request from MIT Press regarding claims of copyright infringement, which means your link above doesn't work any more. You can see the letter here if you are interested.

It's a great desk-book to dip in to for a couple of minutes when you've hit a wall and, much like Michael Bierut's book of essays, it quickly makes you see things from a completely fresh angle and gives you an immediate re-starting point. Highly recommended.

I agree with the review - this book is about Design (capital "D"), not about just architecture per se. There's also some interesting comparisons made between designers and engineers, which I highlighted in my review of the book from last year -
