I find Amazon much quicker most of the time, even from the Amazon.com version compared to the Amazon.de version. I'm not saying this because of the affiliate links from here, but because I've ordered lots of books locally and they almost always take longer than Amazon.com. I think they manage to expedite the customs process somehow. The shipping is more expensive, of course, but sometimes it's worth it if you are in a hurry.
